What is a Petfishing scam?
“Petfishing” is an increasingly common scam! The term “Petfishing” comes from “Catfishing”, which refers to unscrupulous pet sellers on the market who post misleading or false pet information online to lure buyers into purchasing pets with health problems or breeds that do not match the description.
Common examples
Cats and dogs are being sold at low prices and feature attractive photos, making it easy for buyers to be deceived. If you are not careful, you may end up with a pet that is weak and sick, leading to significant medical expenses and may even face the risk of death. Not only will the owner suffer financial losses and emotional trauma, this also raises serious animal welfare concerns!
